Loki Episode 3 Hides Thor: Ragnarok Easter Egg

Loki Episode 3 Updates: The second episode of Loki incorporates a subtle yet extremely comical reference to the group name “the Revengers” in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. The name is the direct reference to the nickname where Thor is endeavoring to brand his group of happy Asgardian bandits in Thor: Ragnarok.

The callback which is discreet calls off the heels of Loki finding out files in order to help out the Time Variance Authority – otherwise called the TVA – after he was arrested in Episode 1. Loki’s season debut, “Glorious Purpose,” saw the God of Mischief who was arrested for breaking the code of The Sacred Timeline that follows the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Loki used the Tesseract to get away from the reality of the 2012 timeline after being caught by the Avengers during The Battle of New York. Doing so and disrupts the timeline, Loki is then taken into questioning by Mobius, and clarified the guidelines of The Sacred Timeline in an informative video from Miss Minutes.

As Loki peruses the file according to Ragnarok, he is likewise learning of the destruction of Asgard interestingly for the very first time. Being that this Loki is of the 2012 timeline, he is totally unaware of the events that are initially taking place in his would-be future – where his home and the colony of people were demolished.

It is not anything but a long-lived moment, however, given the death of life which is referenced in the file, Loki’s grief, if brief, that is real. The heavy-hitting feeling of the scene is likewise precise why the humorous Ragnarok Easter egg might have been missed.

In the TVA file, beneath the mention of the obliteration of Asgard, is a line of the letter that reads CODENAME: REVENGERS. The film’s short reference shows up in small print and is certainly for fans who are waiting throughout.

The reference is basically a footnote and almost out of focus, yet obviously a shout-out to Thor: Ragnarok – the God of Thunder who is being outlawed from Asgard in specific after his sister Hela takes over it.

Taika Waititi’s cult’s most loved Marvel film sees Thor, Hulk, and Valkyrie as outcasts in a mission to go undercover in order to reclaim the god’s realm. In a cheeky disclosure, Thor tells that they should begin their own bunch of superheroes, and coins the nickname the Revengers – which is an undeniable off-brand that takes on the Avengers.

Ultimately, Loki winds up joining Thor’s gang of inestimable marauders and together they reclaim the fallen kingdom, with the nickname turning into a running gag all through the movie.

With TVA Loki discovering that he was important for Thor’s mini supergroup in the initial and original timeline, his present morality is unquestionably now on the table. Given his response to the death toll in the Ragnarok file, Loki is clearly moved by the loss of his home – despite the fact that now he had quite recently played the role of the villain against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in New York.

Regardless of what these events will be bringing for the future for the God of Mischief, the Revengers live to see one more day – at least on the paper.

Loki casts Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Award, Sasha Lane, and Eugene Cordero. New episodes will be airing on Wednesdays on Disney+.
